Lt. Governer Nancy Wyman Award
On behalf of the Tolland Democratic Town Committee, We are honored to invite you to the Inaugural Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman Award Ceremony and Fundraiser. This event will take place on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 6:00pm at The Arts of Tolland, where we will celebrate the exceptional contributions of Nancy Wyman to the town of Tolland and the state of Connecticut.
Nancy Wyman’s legacy is one of dedicated public service, visionary leadership, and tireless advocacy for the people of Connecticut. Over her distinguished career, she has held numerous positions, including serving as the Comptroller of Connecticut for 16 years, where she was the first woman to hold this position. As Lieutenant Governor from 2011 to 2019, she continued her commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and improving healthcare access for all Connecticut residents.
Her work has touched the lives of countless individuals, from her efforts to improve public education to her leadership in establishing the HUSKY Plan, which has provided health insurance to thousands of children and families in Connecticut. Nancy’s deep-rooted dedication to public service has left an indelible mark on our state, and it is only fitting that we honor her with an award that will carry her name forward for years to come.
The Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman Award will be presented annually to an individual who has shown exemplary service to the community, mirroring the values and dedication that Nancy herself has embodied throughout her career. We are thrilled to announce that Nancy Wyman will be the first recipient of this award.
This event will not only serve as a celebration of Nancy Wyman’s remarkable achievements but also as a fundraiser to support the ongoing work of the Tolland Democratic Town Committee in fostering community engagement and supporting candidates who share our commitment to public service.
We are also excited to welcome several distinguished special guests who will be attending, including Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz, Former Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin, Connecticut Attorney General William Tong and U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal. In addition, we have extended invitations to a number of other notable leaders, including Governor Ned Lamont, Former Governor Dan Malloy, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, Congressman Joe Courtney, Connecticut Comptroller Sean Scanlon and Connecticut Treasurer Erick Russell
Please RSVP by October 25th, Tickets must be purchased in advance at https://secure.anedot.com/tollanddtc/nancywymanaward
We look forward to celebrating this special occasion with you and honoring the legacy of a true public servant.
